Over 150 students of class 4 and 5 gathered, as a part of the auspicious occasion of Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti, to facilitate one of the greatest epitomes of the world of Literature- the noble laureate, the great Rabindra Nath Tagore. The glittering function was presided over by the principal and students o f the school. The programme began with a choir giving a splendid rendition of Tagore’s song . Recitation from the Gitanjali by the students enthralled the audience and sent a message to one and all. The students walked down the memory lane enlightening everyone about Tagore’s multifaceted personality and its manifestation in his work.
The audience were left enraptured when the choir sang Akela Chalo Re and seemed to be transported to Shanti Niketan.
A programme based on Tagore would not be complete without a dance performance, so our young and dainty girls of 4 and 5 mesmerised the audience with their charming dance performance.
The motive behind the programme was to motivate our students to try to follow the footsteps of such great leader like gurudev and try to imbibe in them some qualities of such great personalities.
