“With great power comes great responsibility.”

Seth AnandramJaipuria School held its Investiture Ceremony for the year 2015-16 on 13th May, 2015. It was an extremely delightful sight to see the students accept their allotted responsibilities and form the Students’ Council, which was “for the people, by the people and of the people.”

The Chief Guest for the ceremony was our revered Principal Sir, Dr. Sundar Kumar Gandikota, who very humbly gratified us by his benign presence. Two students from class 1 thanked him for his presence by presenting to him a flower as a token of our love. The program had an auspicious start with our school prayer, followed by a motivational song, presented by the school choir. Following this, was the disciplined and well-coordinated display of all Student Council Representatives, climbing up the stage to be invested with the responsibility of their badges.

The first to be pinned with the mantle of responsibility was the Head Boy of the school, Anubhav Kumar Srivastava, who was congratulated and invested by the Chief Guest. Next, was the school Head Girl, Trisha Gupta. The Chief Guest obliged her by investing her with the school’s responsibility. Next to be badged were the Associate Head Boy and Associate Head Girl, Mukund Kishore Bhartiya and Aashna Sethi.

Our school has four different houses, named after the four holy Indian rivers-Krishna, Ganga, Godavari and Narmada. Each house has its own Captain, Prefect, Monitor and Games Captain. The office bearers of the four houses were badged and sashayed by their respective housemasters and housemistresses, who transferred the mantle of responsibility on to their shoulders.

After this, the Head Boy, along with the Students’ Council, took a pledge to solemnly uphold the integrity of the school by abiding by the norms of discipline, honesty and perseverance. Following the oath, were speeches by the Head Boy, Head Girl, Associate Head boy and the Associate Head Girl, in which they spoke about how excited they were to be shouldered with responsibilities. They expressed their gratitude to their teachers and promised to live up to their expectations.

The Chief Guest then presided over the audience by sharing his thoughts on the day’s ceremony. The students were thereafter told to rise for the National Anthem .The program was concluded with a positive thought-“Leaders are made not born.”
